Sanders & Sanders Ltd. was established in 1873 by brothers William Sanders and Thomas Sanders of Rushden, Northamptonshire.  They had a vision of offering outstanding quality footwear to discerning members of the public throughout England.  They and their five craftsmen, selected the finest English hides, the best local oak-bark tanned soles and began to design and make boots.

This vision has since passed down from father to son and the company is currently in the forth generation of family management, employing over one hundred craftsman.  The traditional skills are now complemented by the most modern production machinery and advanced computer control systems, but the Company's commitment to quality is unchanged.  Sanders & Sanders Ltd. is one of the few manufacturers in its field to be awarded the coveted ISO9002 (BS5750) Quality Assurance accreditation.  As well as supplying the United Kingdom market, the Company today exports footwear directly to over thirty countries across five continents.

A wide Variety of styles are offered to meet the special needs of each market.  The Sanders Instock Collection is known throughout the World as the very best in English elegence, comfort and durability.  Additionally a wide range of Sanders Made-to-Order styles can be tailored to meet specific market preferences.  Sanders Uniform Footwear products are famous amongst Police, Military and Security forces worldwide.

Most footwear is made using the "Goodyear Welted" construction method, where the upper, insole, welt and sole are entirely stitched together.  Although a very labour intensive process, this is acknowledged to be the finest construction for formal footwear.

In April 2002 Sanders & Sanders Ltd acquired the Regent and Gibbins brands.  Both are well established and respected names in the equestrian trade and production now includes high quality long leather riding boots together withthe leather jodphur boots and complementary legwear.
